Texas Independence Day Parade 2022

5 March 2022
EVENT: Texas Independence Day Parade
LOCATION: Austin , TX

The Texas Independence Day parade was held in Austin again after a two-year plague induced hiatus.

Overall, the parade was smaller than in the past, but the organizers only had two months from notification that they could have one to parade date, not much time to put it together.

Participants included Jim H, Barry F, Ed H, Andy P, Herb T, Amanda B, Caitlin C, and Rory C, and we fielded seven vehicles.

We assembled as usual in the TxDOT parking lot, moved up to the bridge, waited until 0930, then paraded. No issues, no breakdowns, and all had a good time.

Of note, the Texas Independence Day parade has been held in Austin since 2000, with 2020 and 2021 missed over the plague. LoneStar MVPA has participated in every parade that has been held (including a one-vehicle year when we had an ice storm and all but one member were iced in).
