MVPA National Convention

This year’s convention was held in South Bend, Indiana, and coincided with the end of the MVPA Convoy, many vehicles from which lined up in the back lot of the venue for display.. LSMVPA members attending included Scott P, Sam R, Charlie S, and Rory C.
The venue was not, both in my opinion and that expressed by others, ideal for our purposes, and in fact I would have to say it was rather poor. Vendors were spread out in multiple small rooms on multiple floors, and some were lined up in hallways. The rooms themselves were not well marked and were difficult to find, in fact I discovered a “new” one on the third day of the show, and only because I was told where it was!
Attendance was much lower than past years in numbers of vendors, vehicles, and people, but not unexpected in light of the recent plague. With the venue negatives aside, it certainly beat no show at all, and it was good to see folks and pick up some OD loot to take home.
Next year’s convention, again sponsored by AM General who covered the venue costs for this year and next, will be in the same location. Not perfect, but I will attend that one too.
