Temple Family Day 2009 (July)

July 18 2009

The Temple Family Day/Military Appreciation Day was held at the Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum.

In attendance:

Danny K w/M37 “Herculese”
Sam R w/M1009 “Pinky”
Scott P w/M35A2 “Murano Verde”
John SS w/M818 “Bird Killer”
Clint D w/XM818
Rory C (and Panda) w/M813
36th ID w/PLS and up armored HMMVW
III Corps w/several HMMVW and a gen set
4th ID made an unscheduled appearance via rail

We showed up about 0930 and set up at the train station, the crowd was thin but very curious and had lots of questions, it was hot, threated rain for a bit but did not, 36th boys demoed the PLS loading and un-loading it’s cargo several times to the amazement of the crowd (that thing is SMOOTH and QUIET), III Corp showed off their comm gear, a military train came through with 4th ID containers and vehicles on it’s way to Ft.Carson (the new home of the 4th), we ate lunch and hung around a bit more then packed up and went home. Nothing unusual to report. I did fall in love with the pretty Lt, and one of their HMMVW but could not take either home with me:(
