Date: 21 February, 2016
Location: Austin, Texas
Event: Touch-a-Truck
We were asked to bring vehicles for a fund raising event to benefit children.
Attending were Barry F with his Servicar and display, Panda in the M1009, Scott P and Kelly in the M35A2 with M105A2 trailer, and Rory C in the M931A2.
Also in attendance were an AFD fire truck, West Lake police car, Davey arborist truck, along with cement mixers and other trucks from local businesses.
We had a warm but murky start to the day, with low cloud and misty rain. There was a bit of light rain periodically through the event, but not enough to dampen spirits or thin the crowd. Loads of children got to climb into the vehicles, and all seemed pleased.
This event also included a trip to the emergency room for one member to get her hand stitched up. Full recovery is anticipated, however Panda has decided she will no longer be cutting zip-ties to take the flags down at events!
